Horton Press LLC Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Horton Press LLC ("Horton Press," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you visit our websites, use our applications, purchase publications or custom products, or obtain our services (collectively, the "Products and Services").

This Policy covers HortonPress.com, YourTeamManager (including associated kiosk and check-in features), The Wrestling Journal (app and publications), Teacher Timer, The Coach's Journal, Youth Wrestling 101, Wrestling Tournaments 101, custom printed and electronic journals, web hosting and development services, and future Horton Press offerings. Other Horton Press products, including products released under different names, are covered when this Policy is linked or otherwise made applicable to them. Product-specific privacy notices may provide additional details; where a product-specific notice differs, it governs that product's processing to the extent stated and permitted by law.

Important: This Policy describes categories of information and processing that may apply across our offerings. Not every product collects every category. We collect and use information only where relevant to the product, its features, and the purposes described below. Where a particular practice requires consent or additional notice, we will provide it as required by law.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Contact and identity information: names, email addresses, telephone numbers, mailing addresses, organization names, and information provided in support requests or inquiries.
  • Account and authentication information: account identifiers, usernames, email verification status, age or date-of-birth information when required, account settings, and authentication records. Passwords, where used, should be protected through appropriate security controls. If you sign in through a third-party provider, we may receive identifiers and other information that provider makes available with your authorization.
  • Purchases and billing information: orders, subscriptions, license entitlements, invoices, payment status, billing and shipping addresses, transaction identifiers, and refund or dispute records. Payment card information may be handled by payment processors or app marketplaces rather than Horton Press directly.
  • Team and organizational information: team names, rosters, athlete or member profiles, coaching and administrator roles, membership, attendance, check-in records, weigh-in records where enabled, participation history, invitations, and related administrative information.
  • Journal and training information: journal entries, goals, technique notes, training plans, completion indicators, activity streaks, coaching comments, and sharing preferences.
  • Educational application information: timer settings, classroom or activity configurations, and other information entered into educational tools. Do not submit student education records or sensitive student information unless the specific product expressly supports that use.
  • Custom publishing and submitted materials: logos, trademarks, school or team branding, artwork, photographs, names, personalization details, proofs, project correspondence, and other materials submitted for design, printing, or electronic journal production.
  • Communications and preferences: messages to support, feedback, survey responses, notification preferences, and marketing preferences.
  • Technical and usage information: IP addresses, device and browser information, operating system, app version, diagnostic logs, security events, approximate location inferred from IP address, and interactions with our Products and Services.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: information stored or accessed through cookies, local storage, or similar tools for authentication, preferences, security, functionality, and, where used, analytics. See Section 8.

We may also receive information from parents or guardians, coaches, team administrators, schools, organizations, payment providers, app marketplaces, authentication providers, and service providers, depending on the applicable product and permissions.

2. How We Use Information

We use information as reasonably necessary to:

  1. Provide, operate, personalize, and support the Products and Services.
  2. Create and secure accounts, verify eligibility, and administer permissions.
  3. Support team management, check-ins, attendance, weigh-ins, training journals, coaching interactions, and other requested features.
  4. Process purchases, deliver physical and digital products, manage subscriptions, and maintain transaction records.
  5. Produce and fulfill customized journals, publications, artwork, and other commissioned products.
  6. Respond to inquiries, provide customer support, and send operational, security, and billing notices.
  7. Detect misuse, prevent fraud, investigate security incidents, and protect users and our systems.
  8. Diagnose errors, assess performance, and improve product functionality.
  9. Meet legal obligations, enforce agreements, and address disputes.
  10. Send promotional communications where permitted by law and consistent with your choices.

We may create aggregated or appropriately de-identified information for legitimate analytics, product development, and operational purposes, subject to applicable law. We do not treat data as de-identified unless appropriate safeguards and legal requirements are met.

3. Who Can Access Information Within Our Products

Access depends on the product, user permissions, organizational roles, and applicable privacy settings.

The Wrestling Journal

Journal entries are private by default. Joining a team does not automatically give a coach access to the contents of an athlete's journal. Authorized coaches may see limited team membership and participation information, such as whether an athlete completed a journal entry and related activity streaks. Coaches may see journal content only when the athlete enables the applicable sharing option for that team. Athletes may disable sharing using available controls. Disabling sharing prevents subsequent access through that feature but cannot retrieve screenshots, exports, or copies previously obtained by authorized recipients.

YourTeamManager and related team tools

Authorized team or organization administrators may access information needed to administer their teams, which may include rosters, contact details, attendance, check-ins, weigh-ins, and other information made available through their roles and permissions. Organizations control which representatives they authorize and are responsible for using participant information appropriately. Horton Press remains responsible for its own processing and security obligations.

Teacher Timer and educational tools

Information entered into an educational application is used to provide that application's features. Unless expressly disclosed for a particular product, our educational tools are not intended to function as official student information systems or repositories for protected education records.

Hosting and business customers

For customer websites or systems hosted or maintained by Horton Press, a business customer may determine the information collected from its own visitors and users. Depending on the arrangement, Horton Press may process that information on the customer's instructions. The customer's own privacy notice and applicable contract may also govern that processing.

4. Children and Teenagers

Some Horton Press Products and Services are designed for athletics, coaching, or education and may involve minors.

Children under 13: We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to independently register for account-based services or provide personal information without the parental consent or other authorization required by law. Where a product permits under-13 participation, we require an appropriate consent or authorization process before collecting, using, or disclosing the child's personal information, except where a legal exception applies. An invitation from a coach or inclusion on a team roster does not, by itself, establish parental consent.

School-authorized use: In limited circumstances allowed by law, a school may authorize collection and use of a child's information for a school-directed educational purpose. Such authorization does not extend to unrelated commercial uses or other Horton Press products.

Ages 13 through 17: Minors may use eligible services with parent or guardian permission as required by our Terms of Service and applicable law.

Parental choices: A parent or legal guardian may contact us to request information about a child's account, review personal information where legally required, request deletion, or withdraw consent. We may require reasonable verification before acting. Withdrawal may prevent continued use of features that require the information.

We do not knowingly use children's personal information for targeted advertising in violation of applicable law. If we learn that information was collected from a child without required authorization, we will take appropriate steps to restrict processing, obtain legally permissible consent, or delete it as required.

Contact for parental requests: support@hortonpress.com.

5. How We Disclose Information

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information in the following circumstances:

  • At your direction: for example, when you enable journal sharing or participate in a team feature that makes information visible to authorized members.
  • To authorized organizations and users: as required for requested team, coaching, educational, or administrative features and subject to role-based permissions.
  • To service providers: such as cloud hosting, email delivery, authentication, payment processing, shipping, customer support, analytics, and security providers, acting for specified business purposes under appropriate arrangements.
  • To marketplaces and transaction partners: where needed to fulfill purchases, administer subscriptions, or respond to billing issues.
  • For legal and safety reasons: when required by law, legal process, or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • In a business transaction: as part of an actual or proposed merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.

We do not disclose private journal content to coaches merely because an athlete joins a team. We do not authorize service providers to use personal information for their unrelated purposes through our instructions.

6. Custom Artwork, Branding, and Promotional Materials

Schools, teams, companies, and other customers retain their rights in preexisting logos, names, trademarks, and branding. Horton Press retains applicable rights in its original creative contributions to commissioned artwork, as described in our Terms of Service.

Subject to our Terms, customer agreements, applicable law, and any required permissions, Horton Press may display completed custom artwork and finished products in portfolios, websites, product listings, catalogs, and promotional materials. This may include customer branding as incorporated into the commissioned work.

We will not knowingly publish confidential project information or protected personal information in promotional materials without an appropriate legal basis. Identifiable images or personal information of minors will not be used for promotional purposes without any consent or authorization required by law. Customers seeking additional confidentiality or promotional restrictions should arrange them in writing before commissioning work.

7. Payment Processing and App Marketplaces

Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers or marketplaces, including Apple's App Store. Such providers may independently collect and process payment and transaction information under their own policies. Horton Press may receive order confirmations, transaction identifiers, subscription status, and related records needed to provide access and support purchases. We do not claim to receive full payment card details when those details are processed solely by a third party.

8. Cookies, Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking Technologies

8.1 Use of Tracking Technologies

Where implemented and permitted by law, Horton Press may also transmit customer information, such as email addresses or phone numbers, through approved advertising measurement or matching tools. Such information may be hashed or otherwise protected before transmission, but hashing does not necessarily make personal information anonymous.

8.3 Advertising, Remarketing, and Retargeting

Horton Press may use advertising technologies to display advertisements to individuals who have previously visited its websites, interacted with its advertisements, or engaged with its products and services.

These activities may include:

  1. Showing advertisements on Facebook, Instagram, Google, TikTok, and other advertising networks.
  2. Measuring advertising campaign performance.
  3. Creating advertising audiences based on website interactions.
  4. Identifying users who completed purchases, registrations, or other actions.
  5. Excluding existing customers from certain advertising campaigns.
  6. Creating similar or modeled audiences where permitted by law.
  7. Evaluating advertising effectiveness across devices and platforms.

Third-party advertising providers may process information under their own privacy policies and applicable contractual arrangements.

8.4 Advertising Data Sharing

Horton Press may disclose limited information to advertising and analytics providers for campaign measurement, attribution, audience creation, and advertising purposes.

Depending on the technology and applicable law, certain disclosures may be classified as targeted advertising, sharing, or a sale of personal information, even when Horton Press does not receive monetary compensation for the information.

Horton Press does not sell customer contact lists for monetary compensation. However, this statement does not exclude disclosures that applicable privacy laws classify as a sale or sharing.

Where required by law, Horton Press will provide appropriate notices and opportunities to opt out of covered advertising-related disclosures.

8.5 Children's Information and Sensitive Data

Horton Press does not knowingly use personal information collected from children under 13 for behavioral advertising.

Information collected through school-authorized educational services will not be used for unrelated behavioral advertising where prohibited by law or applicable agreements.

Horton Press will not intentionally transmit private journal entries, student educational records, health-related information, athlete weigh-in records, or other sensitive personal information to advertising platforms for targeted advertising.

Advertising technologies must be configured to avoid collecting information that is restricted by applicable privacy laws, provider policies, or contractual obligations.

8.6 Cookie Consent and Advertising Preferences

Depending on applicable law and the technologies implemented, Horton Press may provide cookie consent tools or other mechanisms allowing users to manage nonessential cookies and advertising technologies.

Users may also manage certain advertising preferences through their browsers, devices, or the applicable advertising platforms.

Where legally required, Horton Press will obtain consent before activating nonessential tracking technologies.

Where applicable law requires Horton Press to honor recognized opt-out preference signals, including qualifying Global Privacy Control signals, Horton Press will comply with those requirements.

8.7 Third-Party Privacy Policies

Advertising and analytics providers maintain independent privacy policies governing their collection and use of information.

Users are encouraged to review the privacy policies and advertising preference controls provided by the relevant platforms.

8.8 Changes to Advertising Technologies

Horton Press reserves the right to add, modify, replace, or discontinue advertising and analytics technologies.

Material changes to information collection or processing practices will be disclosed as required by applicable law.

9. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide services, maintain security, comply with tax or financial obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary based on the type of information, product, contractual requirements, and applicable law.

The Wrestling Journal: When a user initiates deletion, the account is disabled and enters a 30-day recovery period. During that period, supported sign-in or account recovery actions may restore the account. After the recovery period, associated personal content is scheduled for deletion from active systems in accordance with the application's deletion process. Some information may remain temporarily in backups or be retained where required or permitted by law. Information included in shared organizational records may be handled separately where lawful and necessary.

Other accounts and products: Deletion methods and timing may differ. Users can use available in-app controls or contact us. Deleting an account does not necessarily cancel an App Store or other externally billed subscription.

Custom orders and business records: We may retain project files, approved proofs, invoices, shipping records, and communications for legitimate business purposes, subject to applicable privacy rights, agreements, and law.

We will not retain personal information indefinitely merely because our Terms reserve ownership of proprietary databases or creative works.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and Services. No internet-based system or storage method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their credentials and promptly report suspected unauthorized access to support@hortonpress.com.

11. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, and to object to or limit certain processing. You may also have rights to withdraw consent or appeal a denied privacy request.

You can request assistance at support@hortonpress.com. We may verify your identity or authority before fulfilling a request. We may decline or limit a request where permitted or required by law, and will explain applicable reasons where required.

You may opt out of promotional emails using the unsubscribe method provided in those messages or by contacting us. Essential transactional, security, and service communications may still be sent as appropriate.

If applicable privacy laws require additional disclosures or choices, including regarding targeted advertising, profiling, or sensitive information, we will provide those disclosures and choices for the relevant processing.

12. International Users and Data Transfers

Horton Press is based in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our authorized providers operate. Where cross-border transfers are subject to specific legal requirements, we will use appropriate safeguards as required by law.

13. Third-Party Websites and Services

Our Products and Services may link to or integrate with third-party websites, platforms, payment processors, and marketplaces. Their independent privacy practices are governed by their own notices. We encourage you to review those notices.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our products, practices, or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice or obtain consent for material changes where required by law. Changes will not override rights or obligations that cannot legally be modified without additional notice or consent.
